Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

It’s not even close to being the same thing.

Jordan Henderson quickly realised his mistake, gave up hundreds of thousands and got out. He paid a big price not just in money terms, but reputation, lost his England place, lost a lot of respect, booed by his own country.

How long do you want the lad to face the consequences for? I assume you’ve never made a mistake, or if you have you don’t expect people to forgive you after years?

Completely incomparable to Newcastle who instead of holding there hands up, or realising there mistake, still insist there owners are lovely, and fully embrace there overlords by wearing tea towels and the Saudi colours.

It’s a lazy argument by people who are absolutely terrified of being compared to the mags.
good morning, Jordan

So would I in general but we are desperate for premier league experience.

Henderson has captained a team to the premier league, is fit as a lop, a model pro and from Sunderland.

He's an absolutely ideal signing.
Lets not underestimate that he's a MLF and was nutured here as a bairn and a young player. Comes from Farringdon and is looking at the final chapter of his career, with an eye on what to do next.

His personality and how he's looked after himself, indicates a career in coaching and I'd imagine his home town club with outstanding facilities, would be a perfect fit.

Of course there's a risk that his legs aren't what they used to be, put playing as an 8 with younger players running their arses off all around him, should be workable.

I'd love him to come me like.

is this actually on the cards or everyone talking bollocks?

It’s been rumoured by various sources but tellingly nothing from either the player or either club.

Henderson still has a year left on his Ajax deal and has recently made England squads.

Sentiment aside, career wise is it a good move for him?

Time will tell I suppose.

Suppose he knows hes coming to the end. Last showing in the premier for his home club. not short of cash. i can see why it would appeal

As a multi millionaire, why not come back and play for literally the bare legal minimum, and become a legend in the process

Fabulous post and correct in every regard.

It's an intriguing one.

The PL has moved on since Jordan has been in it, and he won't be afforded the time he has at Ajax to stroke the ball about. Especially when we'll be up against it from the very off. It'll be a very different mindset he'll need as well as being able to chase and cover a lot of ground at 35. It doesn't make for good reading when you look at the CM's currently in the PL at that age. Milner basically warms a subs bench seat at Brighton. The 2 at Man U regularly get outshone each week and I can't think of anymore that stick out in the 35 yr old bracket and there's the obvious reasons for that.

If the club bring Henderson in on a free and with a huge reduction on his wages then its hard not to argue against taking the punt, but I've got a feeling that we're going to need more in midfield, just in case he's not quite up to the mammoth task that lies ahead.

If Jordan Henderson wants a return and is serious about it, then financially there will be a deal to be done. This is very much in Henderson's remit.
If henderson signs then its because he's agreed to fit into the wage structure the club want.

Have people not being taking notice for the past 3 years? The owner and recruitment team are sensible.
My point exactly.

On paper he's a no brainer, but he may no longer be up to it.

But I don't see long list of players with his pedigree who will want to join. We'd be mad not to gamble on him
