He won’t be playing for a team challenging for the title. Would be our best signing of the summer
 
This thread is really winding me up. Say we have a wages pot of £400k per week to use on new players, are we happy giving say £50k of that to a 34 year old player that not one other PL team thinks is good enough and has no resale value. I'd hope people would say they'd prefer that money goes towards a younger and fitter player, who can stay and grow with the squad.

All this nonsense about 'getting us' is daft. Players don't need to 'get us', they just need to be good.

Agreed. I really liked Leadbitter. He would run through brick walls for SAFC, likewise Henderson would if he signed. Just pointing out it’s nothing like the Leadbitter signing due to tbe fact Henderson is far superior as a footballer.

If he were to come, I'd have thought it'd be to plug a Jobe-shaped gap to be honest. I wouldn't necessarily be against it if it buys us time to get a longer term replacement.
