Jordan Henderson (signed for Brentford)

The lack of sentiment meant they didn't really mind ripping apart the majority of the squad that got us out of L1 fairly quickly and that's why we are where we are now.

Alot of our fans would have offered the likes of Gooch, Wright, Batth, Pritchard, Mcgeady etc and extra year for purely sentimental reasons.

Reading some of the threads before we started doing business, we'd be starting the season with Neil, Rigg, O'Nien and Mundle as the first 11 and signing squad players on the cheap to support them because 'they got us up and deserve a chance'. Thankfully those people aren't in charge. No space of sentiment in business.

I wouldn't.

I would think it was a very good signing to compliment our very young squad.

It has never, ever been about sentiment for me. I honestly couldn't care less, yes nice story but so what. It was about experience and ability to retain possession and calm the game down.
When has our playstyle ever resorted to retaining possession

Our calming of the game is sitting in forcing wide and forcing crosses

This thread is mental. Got people suggesting that a PL / CL winning captain would not offer experience to our young / half African squad...

Personally disappointed he's gone to Brentford, but still have full faith in Speakman and co.

He wants to go the world cup. Would he have been happy doing a cameo 20 minutes probably not.

Because he isn't good enough to start every week

I think it comes down to - him not playing every week for us if he came back here - Nørgaard going opens up a place for Hendo to play most weeks in the league which he will need to get into the World Cup Squad next year

could see the pros and the cons of getting Henderson in. His experience and leadership would have helped but i feel like he was starting to slow down in his last season at Liverpool nevermind the 3 or so years since so who knows how good he'd actually be on the pitch, only time will tell.
We dont know how our small young new midfielders will do either.Everyone hopes they will vastly what we had but we dont know.Anyway pointless now ,time to move on.If the club sign Guendoosi ,then we will know why its not happend

I am disappointed we haven’t looked into the option (let’s face had we he would’ve signed) but you’ve got to trust the club. They’ve earned this.

we will bring in an experienced lad in midfield imo, whoever we go for it is a massive positive to have someone with real experience there, likewise I think we need the same at CB.
