What on earth was morally wrong about employing Di Canio? You could say it was a poor decision by all means but I can't see where there was a moral lapse by the club in employing him
the whole pretenting he wasnt a fascist malarkey by byrne was mental. it "forced" milliband out aswell.

its not the clubs problem to protect him he has clearly left himself wide open the club must look after itself first, i think(only my opinion mods) regardless of the verdict there will be enough comes out of the case that will see us part ways with him.

Is keeping Johnson on and not suspending him not evidence of the club looking after itself first? They are obliged to pay this man, they pay him because they want him to play football to the best of his ability. He is, according to many fans, our best player. Over 6 to 8 weeks, they probably pay him close to a quarter of a million pounds. Should the club feel obliged to pay him to sit around waiting for his trial while the rest of the team works hard to fulfil the same duties Johnson has?

Surely the club is looking after itself by expecting a player to fulfil his professional obligations and do what he was expected to do when they offered him a contract.

They didn't expect or ask him to get embroiled in a situation like this.

Im sure the club will look after itself IF he is found guilty. Stop looking for reasons to moan.

no, they are leaving themselves wide open.

But you do. Have a day off please.
name me one thing the club has done right in say 12 months?

Anyone think the club's hands are tied on this?

We know they can't hold their own investigation until the police action has run it's course, how long can they reasonably suspend an employee without holding an investigation?

Wow what? I never said I agree with what he has done, allegedly, I can't understand why someone who could sleep with almost any single woman would choose to sleep with a fifteen year old. I was just putting a little perspective on things
What is illegal in the UK is actually legal in many EU countries. So please expand on your WOW?

Very poor decision by the club, morally questionable, but I suspect they have done it out of financial desperation at the thought of relegation. But he won't be right to play, his presence will be a distraction and uncomfortable for the rest of the team, and the shit we get from the terraces is hardly going to aid our plight.

The club is run by a bunch of incompetent idiots who couldn't run a market stall, let alone a football club.

Or perhaps the club is hoping that the team including AJ might take on a siege mentality resulting in improved committment and results

Suspect it's telling that he was reinstated after talks with the PFA

no, they are leaving themselves wide open.
Wide open for criticism? Are you implying that by associating with him they are making a bad call? They are already associated with him because they offered him a contract to play football. If he was found guilty then that association would have to end, obviously. But right now his association is contract-based, he is paid money to play football, and as of now he has not been found guilty of anything by a court of law. They therefore must have a right to demand he continues to perform his duties and honour his contract. The charges don't actually change this reality. It would be unfortunate if, in a few months, it is made apparent that they have been paying a man guilty of a crime. But expecting him to do his job while he is a paid employee is not illegal or immoral.

If his head is right play him, let justice takes it's coarse and see how it plays out. I'm not saying he will keep us up singlehandedly but we aren't in any position to play judge and jury before anything concrete has happened, if he is suspended by the club then is proven innocent but we get relegated how stupid would we look then? Haway Johnna get the winner tomorrow lad!

It wasn't questionable to employ someone with those political views in this area of the country?
No. His political views have fuck all to do with his ability to coach footballers.
