I already feel shit about the whole situation regardless. The decision to suspend him and bring him back was ill-advised. It looks farcical. I agree with that.

I know this might sound bad, but don't you think the club should feel entitled to get something back for the wages they will be paying Johnson?
 

Unless the club know something we don't know and are confident he will get off with it?

When we will find out the specifics of the case, the actual truth in what happened ?

I think, in the grand scheme of things, a criminal case such as this extends far beyond any monetary value. Mind - and I'm not sure on this - I imagine if he is convicted the club could likely sue him for wages he received while under suspension, if they so desired.

Its going to court..........theres clearly grounds for that decision which the CPS don't take lightly and the police don't submit the file to them unless they think theres a very good chance of a conviction (80% according to a mate of mine who was a DS at Peterlee until recently).................

Johnson saying I am innocent when his brief wont be discussing any details of the file with any third party matters not.........

Shouldn't matter what they know. In my opinion the only fault the club have made was to suspend him after the initial reports rather than treat him as innocent till proven guilty.

I hope it all comes to F.A for A.J.

Because he was arrested. They reviewed the situation. Pretty ordinary if ya ask me.

As above. He'll have been formally suspended 'til the club could review the situation.

You have to remember the Police carried out part of their investigation at the club. They went to the AoL, they'll have spoken to players. It's probably the case that the Police wanted to keep Johnson away from there until they had completed their enquiries. Once they were done with the club and potential witnesses at the club, Johnson will have been free to go about his business pending the outcome of the case.

There's no longer any lawful reason for him to be suspended by the club.

granted it looks ridiculous suspending him initially and now not doing so. that wasn't the best decision in hindsight but two wrongs don't make a right so can understand why the club haven't suspended him again if they're now going with innocent until proven otherwise

this could and probably will go on well into next year, what are they supposed to do, suspend him indefinitely when he hasn't been found guilty of anything yet? is that even legal? (honestly no idea)
