It could be months before it goes to trial, infact we probably have time to save ourselves and find ourselves in the same situation this time next year, before it goes to trial

He's in court May 20th.

What has changed since the last game against Palace? Why do you suddenly have a problem with him playing now?

Clear change like, it's gone from a position of being nothing but an allegation to now going to court with some form of evidence. Doesn't make him guilty of course, but the situation has just jumped up a level.

Sunderland should be ashamed of themselves...I'm all for innocent before being proven guilty but with the serious nature of the charges and the fact the crown prosecution feel they have enough evidence really makes thier decision not to suspend him a joke. Why suspend when it first broke but not now when there is clearly enough evidence pointing at him having done something wrong. I truly believe Sunderland have let their fans down.

Still can't work out how being arrested and questioned gets him suspended but being charged is seen as a lesser issue by the club.

Because we are deeper in the shit.

people will have their own opinions which is fair enough, but I suspect if we weren't in any danger of relegation some of those and the club would have a different viewpoint.

For me with a minor being involved he should not be anywhere near playing. Its a huge surprise our professional ran club has made a pigs ear of this whole situation. Piss up brewery.

Defo mate. For the CPS to proceed like this they have to be very sure of a conviction. Hope to fuck it doesn't turn out like that but I for one, am not confident. Not in the slightest.

For the first hearing yes, it's at magistrates, I'm sure it will be committed to Crown, it could take months and months. It's certainly not going to be resolved on 20th May

Obviously innocent until proven guilty only applies in your opinion if the charge is not serious. You really can't have it both ways.

The bloke is meant to be a role model to children...will look very bad on the club if found guilty
