He doesn't really bother me - find him entertaining. I'd be more annoyed if we hadn't beaten Newcastle 6 times in a row and he'd been a success for them, but he wasn't really.

But suspect his behaviour is fueled by secret envy of wanting to be our manager to show what he can do.
I think you are partially correct - he is (and sets himself up as) a Pantomime Villain. In reality, other than a few comments in the paper, what has he actually done to even register in the thoughts of the average Sunderland fan? Generally, he is a nasty, odious little prick, but that goes for a lot of people in football. His apparent "obsession" with us (since becoming Fleetwood Manager) is simply (IMHO) a way of promoting awareness of his own club and trying to steal a little of our limelight. I think he would absolutely jump at the chance of managing a club of our size and stature
Agree, we just seem to drop points every time we play Fleetwood
Haven't beaten them in 5 attempts now...........

Tbf, he would jump at the chance of managing Sunderland, but he should be allowed nowhere near the place, and thats not due to his mag connections.

Hes doing a decent job at Fleetwood, but they'll tail off and continue to be in this league for many years to come. I don't hhink you'll see him become a top manager, he'll be one of those who has a career in lingering around League One and the Championship clubs.

Whats worrying is that he'll probably already have his lads focused on Friday, whilst Parkinson won't even have an idea on his first 11.

I have zero ill feeling against him, it is a game of football and I find it sad the hatred some people have. He is doing a canny job at fleetwood.

The Fleetwood fans will know our team before P🐷rky does.

He is. But that doesn’t preclude his being an utter arsehole.

His record is better than expected, he gives the illusion of taking no shit and he is the antithesis of Parkinson, which adds some surprising appeal.

The reality is, appointing him has disaster written all over it. Theres too much history which could always resurface and his private life is too chequered.

Avoid like the plague.

He constantly manages to outthink our managers and has his players up for our games. Decent managing considering he's operating under a very tight budget.

They did carry a fair bit of luck against us last season mind, particularly when we played them at their place.

I don't think he would, although it would help inflate his ego even further. I think he'd use it as an opportunity to gloat in the press i.e. why would I want to go there (pandering to the mags), Fleetwood are better (pandering to his fans and players), I can do better (putting himself in the shop window).
