Signed for Middlesex.

Quite surprised actually, I knew his contract was running down but he captained them towards the end of last season and I thought they were grooming him to take over from Key this winter.

Van Jaarsveld has also gone from Kent, requested an early release from his contract and has joined Leicestershire.

Denly seems to have lost his way over the last 18 months; long way from the England set up now.

fuck me, second bottom of division 2 and theyve lost their best player in van jar and an opener in denly. fuck all chance of seeing them come up next year. bastards

Looks like a solid county pro to me who's just not quite up to international standard (Ed Joyce type).

Kent got shot of their coach too. Are they in trouble financially? Seem to remember Rob Key on commentary saying they were having to bring in 3/4 kids to bowl at the same time. Can't remember if they had a lot of injuries or no money.

financial mess, think they spent a lot giving Canterbury a refurb

they planned on spending a shite load on making the ground test standard, everything fell through and never happened, many years later theyre just building flats on their grounds.

plus they lost a shite load hosting such glorious events as the sugar babies and somebloke crooner i forget, david gray or some such, pissed away a couple of million on them
