I was thinking this, you’d have thought he’d have had game time at the end of last season. He’s 22 now, so not exactly too young to be exposed to Championship Football.

Despite being 22, the fact is he’s barely kicked a ball. Mowbray has politely said he essentially needs to go and get kicked and elbowed and toughen up as a CB despite his excellent ball playing ability.
It’s not out of the question he goes there and comes back as a proper player.
If/when Batth departs next summer he may well be ready to slot in. Potentially more very good planning by Speakman and his team?
