Jobe Bellingham - post SAFC compendium

Trust KLD & Speakman to do the right thing (they’ve plenty of credit in the bank)

Obviously a move to Germany has been discussed and agreed by both the club and Jobe’s family as the next stage of his development.

He could easily have left last summer after the clusterfuck of the 16th place finish
And let’s be honest we messed him about. Ran the lad ragged and played him out of position. He’s a midfielder not a striker.

Not sure about the rafters stuff, the kid was desperate for a rest and we continued to bladder him.
There was a thread on here, can’t be bothered to find it but people failed to see that dips in form are part of the deal with 18yr olds. We wouldn’t be where we are now if we didn’t play him.

I think he was being compared to Rooney, a generational talent.

Sadly I think he'll go...hope not but his career will be very carefully mapped out just like his brother's.

Thought he had a good game and had a cracking 2nd half at Wembley.
I think it's more likely he'll go to Dortmund. The family know the setup, the club are good at bedding in English players and Jude will be able to pass on his advice particularly about the area in general.
Agree

Both are great cities … not liked by who?
Most people who go to q Dortmund game stay in Dusseldorf and train into dortmund. Know a few people who didn't like the city and seen reviews online that say its boring.

Sure the players used to live in Dusseldorf until the club started wanting them living near the club. Leverkusen players also stay in Dusseldorf.

He might look back at these days as the best in his career. I still think he has a lot to learn but maybe the slightly slower pace of Bundesliga will suit him more. He takes too many touches at times and Premier League is full of athletes. We will need players of his strength and athleticism next season. They are out there, just need to identify the right ones like Bournemouth; Brentford, Brighton have done. Our recruitment has been very good and would hope that will continue.
Imo this is exactly whats at play. Yes he's an excellent player but the premiership is extrenely demanding and im not sure he suits his style compared to abroad.

Cracking deal for us if its 40mill tho

Dortmund is a quality city. Their football c◇
club is decent aswell

What’s the point of him being captain if he can’t lead ? He’s gone missing more often than not especially In The run in and turned in probably a season worst performance in the biggest game of all

He didn’t have a very good game on the ball Saturday, so was not his best game but the lack of awareness around his total performance is mind boggling.

But by the time he was substituted he was blowing out of his arse because of the effort he had put in. As much as anyone else he kept us in that game defensively.
It was the right decision to take him off and be more offensive with fresh legs, particularly as Hamer had been subbed and that threat had gone.

People talk about leaders as if they have the foggiest how they lead on the pitch, execute the coaches directions, inspire other players. You don’t know, neither do I for that matter but I trust RLB to get it right.

Guess what with him as captain we have got promoted, job done what is there to dislike or criticise about that.
These lads don’t stand a chance next season under the scrutiny of some our fan base.

For what it’s worth I think we need a Jordan Henderson or similar in the team next season to lead the team at what is altogether a different level. What ever today’s equivalent of Steve Bould and Shwarz is what is needed to compete.

Thanks Dan Neil and all these young lads for putting everything out there til the end this season . You never knew when you were beat

Job done

Well I can only say what I have seen, it’s not as vibrant as some others (however I wouldn’t do an exact comparison with NE as we may lose) I have been for 1 game and 2 times with work and it’s a great city and people…players living in a close by city is probably like what we see with Our players living North and south of our city.

How many home grown lads who suppprt safc have got the club they follow promoted
I bet it’s in one hand ?

I mean you're the only one that's said he can't lead. I think he can lead and does.

To be honest I think it's a daft argument given the youngest side in the league has just won promotion as the underdogs.

Even dafter when you factor in that Le Bris has came out and said the players basically control the dressing room themselves.

I simply don't think that happens with the captain being unable to lead.
I’ve got eyes - I can see him playing poorly

It’s nice, it’s the financial hub of Germany so has a modern high rise centre, but its also has a historic old town by a river, it’s quite a contrast
Popular with players aswell apparently because the airport is very well connected around the world.

It's an absolute shithole around the station mind, particularly at night. Was there in September. Was quite taken aback (not in a good way) by the place.

All the talk is of 25+5, even after we've been promoted. It's definitely a clause and that's why he's visiting clubs, it's out of our hands and we can only wait and see what his decision is.
His advisors or his parents seem to have done a good job in terms of his contracts and options. It was easy enough for us to get him out of Brum and it’s now looking similar for his SAFC exit albeit at a much higher fee.
