Jobe Bellingham - post SAFC compendium

If he goes for £30m+ then fair enough it’s a good profit but it leaves a big hole in our team. I might be wrong but we didn’t win a game without him this season.

Losing Watson, jobe and mepham means we’re already weaker. The club recruitment strategy will be interesting. Premier league players start at £25m these days. I don’t think KLD will want to go for it and get 5-6 in in that bracket. Will they want to abandon the buy young and cheap strategy that got us here.

Problem for me is he was one of a handful of players who would be a guaranteed a first team place next season. So before anything else you have to replace him…. With a Premiership quality player. What’s that cost ?
Watson on the other hand was going to be a squad player.
It’s really a big step backwards. On the other hand we lost Lee Clark, Michael Bridges and effectively Johnstone in that close season and I thought we were goosed as a consequence.
Times are different the gap is greater but we need half a dozen £20m plus players

Disappointing but this is the model one big Sale a season and look to reinvest in other areas

This will be no shock to hierarchy they’ll of known for months

I was reading PSR wise we are at Massive disadvantage to rest of league including Burnley and leeds, this sale and Watson hopefully gives us more flexibility

Wish him nothing but the best he’s been part of group of players that have given us memories for a lifetime
How are we at a massive disadvantage? We are pretty much debt free and have a lot of money coming in now.

Feels like Bellingham's camp always had a bit of leverage over the club, not in a sinister way just in a gentleman's agreement type of way. When we knocked back Palace last summer and gave him a new contract it felt like that was SAFC asking Jobe to give us 1 more year and we won't stand in your way.

Either way, he's played his part, we're gonna make money on him and it shows other young players what SAFC can do for you.

Yep the fee was probably agreed last summer in agreement with his contract

The Bellinghams want to protect their kids from the problems with the English Media blowing insignificant issues into back page headlines and getting into their kids heads. Doesn't happen abroad, and the reason why they aren't in the EPL. Can't see that changing anytime soon. Germany will be perfect for his further development you would think.
Aren’t the Spanish media just as vile as our media? Especially when it comes to Real and Barca

I have a feeling that’s how his parents see things as well. If he stays, I suspect they would have been briefed on our transfer targets and they are content with the approach
I don’t think anyone is sitting down with his agents and telling them who we’ll be going for if we get promoted. Could be wrong like.

Sometimes you think football clubs are elite businesses, but they’re just like the rest of us and behind closed doors, so who knows what’s said.

The scrutiny he would be under from the media especially Sky would be massive if he stays for next season. I can totally see why he would want to move to the likes of Germany, it worked a treat for his brother.
