I'd think batsmen the quality of Dravid, Laxman, Tendulkar and Dhoni are thinking of occupying the crease and giving that little extra in the knowledge a lot rests on them.

No Broad won us the game. He ripped out their top order in the first innings.
Tests are won in the first innings by and large.

Lets not forget we were in the shit in our 2nd innings as well and along with Prior got us out of trouble

I can't disagree with your reasoning on Broad's MoM claim, he played a major role in us winning the game. But Ha'way man, you can't just discount Jimmy's performance on the grounds of India being weakened without discounting the performances of the rest of the team.

EB must already have his excuses lined up for the 2nd test, Trent Bridge is a nortoriously decent wicket for swing bowlers in recent years.
Plus, the entire Indian team are injured/undercooked/old, except Zaheer Khan, who is their best batsman.
