Todd Rundgren is a genius and showed it in the making off that album.

Jim wrote musical theatre tunes.

Todd thought it was a Springsteen parody and produced it as such.

I can see the connection to Springsteen but Bruce wrote/writes authentic gritty tales of Americana - sincere and not particularly lighthearted.

Steinman wrote musical theatre tunes with tongue in cheek based around fantasy and imagination.

I prefer Bruce by some distance.
