Oh no, I hadn't heard. I`m afraid no anecdotes from me. I never came across him in my musical travels although I did go to a press conference at St. James` Park where Meatloaf was doing a charity fund raising thing as an apology for cancelling his Metro Arena show a few months earlier after only a few songs. I did like the Pandora`s Box album he did a fair few years ago. I think he`d have been quite an interesting person to interview but the chance just never cropped up. Sad news though.
Todd Rundgren is a genius and showed it in the making off that album.Cracking album Bat out of Hell like

Bat out of hell is a masterpiece, over 50 million copies sold and seemed like it was in the charts forever (522 weeks in the UK albums chart). No one made music like his. Shame he had a falling out with Meatloaf or could have been even more hits. He'll be sadly missed, mind planet rock radio will be packed with his hits tomorrow i'd imagine.
It was in US charts forever. We'll never see his like again imo. Easier to copy other styles of music but what he did was visionary and very popular.Bat out of hell is a masterpiece, over 50 million copies sold and seemed like it was in the charts forever.
Well I loved it, rock out anytime I hear the more up tempo songs and have been known to sing paradise by the dashboard light on my karaoke mic (it's canny tough singing both parts ffs = a bit of a lung buster ).It was in US charts forever.
