I know Lucimi is a LCB and Alderete is the only other one we have (technically isn't Hjelde left footed?) I think with Ballard, Geertruida, Mukiele, and Alderete (then Reinildo, Hjelde, O'Nein and maybe be Alese to be contingency) we're ok for CBs for the rest of the season, so focus elsewhere.

Ballard has proven to be pretty reliable as the LCB

He looked very good last season. Was poor at start of this but then improved substantially and is now sounding ropey just as the window for a move reopens. Not sure that’s coincidental and may be either making a point or distracted.

I’m basing it solely on this half of footy like as I’ve never watched him apart from this. But this was definitely a guy who couldn’t give a fk. He was all over the place

Im sure someone on here was criticising him earlier in season having watched him. This doeant sound like a one off. Unless he wants away and isnt happy

Aye he was cack. But if you want away then surely playing well is the best way to do that? Saying that mind, the whole Bologna defence was rubbish.

Watched him against Villa. Was tasked with Morgan Rodgers and seemed to take it to literally. Was all over the place leaving big gaps at the back as he followed him on the wings, into midfield etc. Was better in the second half when I assume it was explained in more detail his role was to watch Rodgers when he was in advanced positions at half time. Not impressed that a seasoned international was struggling with a fairly simple role. Just one game and the recruitment team have got everything nearly spot on, but cannot see Regis being keen on his connections.

See he did that today as well, which makes me think he’s being asked to play a man-marking role by his gaffer. No way is he so far out of position based on his own reading of a game, otherwise he couldn’t be making a living as a professional footballer

Lined up against Villa in a back 4, if it was a man marking think they would have played a back 5 with him as a spare man. Hooked at half time suggests he has had the same brain fart again.
 
Geertruida in permanently, Lucumi in, Alese Hyelde out & sadly O'9 out....would love to see O'9 back here in the future, coaching the kids, even kit man or summet 😎
 
I think if we got a CB in it would be a young promising player who would be happy to be gradually blooded into the team. Having Ballard, Lucumi, Geertruida, Mukiele and Alderete is amazing on paper but every single one of those players will want to start and won't be happy to sit on the bench for prolonged periods. In fact there's a chance at times one of them wouldn't even be making the bench. I'd sign Geertruida permanently especially for his versatility then get a highly rated 20 year old in

I think the same. The summer recruitment, especially in defence has probably seen the clubs need for another first team CB become less of a need. We were linked with a young Left footed CB earlier and I wouldn't be surprised if that was to happen rather than Lucumi.
