Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

Release clause had to be paid in full - not sure we'd be able to do that with PSR

There must have been encouragement that a deal could be done for us to chase him this long
We’ve agreed terms with him. Maybe there were indications to his agent or us that ~€30m would get him. Maybe it still would, everybody has a price

Unlike you to be pessimistic

If Speakman, Harvey et al say he can do a job I will give their opinion far more consideration than some pea brained beer swilling morons who wouldn’t know a footballer from a fan dancer.
I love how people throw around collective nouns like ‘west ham fans’ as if it is non arguable fact when it is likely someone from their version of this forum has spouted some ill informed subjective personal viewpoint.

In your world 2 plus 2 equals 22.
In every aspect of recruitment Speakman and his team have played a blinder from day 1. The outlay versus the value of our squad while still in c’ship is undeniable, incontrovertible proof that he is a genius in comparison to some random know nowt whinger from a fan message board..we all know the sort.
He and KLD started this season knowing what was needed and readied a budget way way in excess any of us could have imagined and have really hoed in to the market. It was and is always going to be a slog to bring in every single player identified and needed. We are favorites for relegation..a sad but undeniable fact. Other clubs at home and overseas want to take our eyes out..we’d do the same no doubt if roles were reversed.
People (fans ?) should desist from wetting the bed and bagging management over recruitment. They have done a cracking job under the circumstances.
What’s a fan dancer?

I really thought we'd finally get this lad but Bologna have seemed unwilling from the off. We should have just offered his release clause I take it we're above that value now?
I think it was explained that we couldn't coz that was money all upfront. We pay installments over the length of contracts. So we had no other way. Hope Ghisolfi has another name to try for coz this is bollox now.

Meant the fans are saying that - but you knew that really didn't you
‘ the fans are saying that’
You mean some p0xy smattering of fans from the whu equivalent of PF?
As you’ll often hear/read, this site is in no way representative of those that regularly attend games.
A few fire stick aficionados does not mean all or even a majority of whu fans
…but you knew that didn’t you

It would be a bit silly for anyone to moan that the club hasn't made enough signings or spent enough money if we did go down.
I agree…but there are plenty on here that think that we should have two full X1s of Premier ready players and that everyone else we have is “shite”.
The absolute arrogance of quite a few posters on here is approaching Skunk levels of delusional thinking since we started flashing the cash.

Paying in full makes no difference to PSR.

The cost of the transfer is spread across the length of the contract for PSR purposes, regardless of whether the cash is paid up from or over installments.

Paying up front is a significant cash flow concern however.

I know so little about PSR....that's interesting. Wonder what happened? As you say depends how cash rich we are I guess. Unless we tried to get him cheap?

It makes a difference to PSR in that any interest we pay will also be part of the calculation
