It's possible but even if we didn't sign another CB we got Alderete another CB and we went after Diakite that's 3 different players in the same spot. We've had to buy players for every other position in the squad. people really can't (but will) complain about this transfer window in my eyes.
Before we made a signing people were talking about 09 and co being part of the starting line up etc. Since we've made numerous purchases they're last in the pecking order now. Yes we could do with another CB but it's clear we've tried as hard as possible to get another one in. It's insane how quickly people start pointing fingers at the club.

I’m far from pointing fingers at the club as I think we have a squad that’s ready to fight to survive. However, I do feel like if we do go down this season, it will be the couple of signings we still need now that will be getting mentioned. A lot of what ifs

It would equally be as silly if we didnt sign a couple of better attackers given what we have brought in so far. You dont sign xhaka and co to play behind mayenda to try and stay up. I also dont think xhaka would accept that!!

No I do t know how anyone can have a pop at recruitment mind. Weve shown we don’t have our eggs in one basket as most of the summer we’ve signed players totally out of the blue. This lad will be a long standing target as was the lad Bournemouth beat us too and no doubt a few others that never made the press. No one can moan about this summer, if he eventually signs I’d rather they got their man then signed someone for the sake of signing. We will have other irons in the fire like you say hint at I think they’ve earned our faith this window.

If Speakman, Harvey et al say he can do a job I will give their opinion far more consideration than some pea brained beer swilling morons who wouldn’t know a footballer from a fan dancer.

In every aspect of recruitment Speakman and his team have played a blinder from day 1. The outlay versus the value of our squad while still in c’ship is undeniable, incontrovertible proof that he is a genius in comparison to some random know nowt whinger from a fan message board..we all know the sort.
He and KLD started this season knowing what was needed and readied a budget way way in excess any of us could have imagined and have really hoed in to the market. It was and is always going to be a slog to bring in every single player identified and needed. We are favorites for relegation..a sad but undeniable fact. Other clubs at home and overseas want to take our eyes out..we’d do the same no doubt if roles were reversed.
People (fans ?) should desist from wetting the bed and bagging management over recruitment. They have done a cracking job under the circumstances.

Plenty of good points here. I'm as bad as anyone for making stupid comments. Perhaps we need an amnesty between now and the window closing. After the window closes we can have a more informed opinion. It's fair to say Xhaka, Diarra and Adingra were stunning signings. All other clubs would admit that.
