Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour


There is an element of our support that consistently belittles the contribution and growth of one of our longest serving and most admired players.
I don't understand why some people can't accept that O'Nein has always risen to the challenge over successive seasons.
He may not be physically able to play over a season at centre back in the Premier League, but the idea that he should be written off without kicking a ball is repugnant and frankly offensive.

There is an element of our support who just don’t grasp the enormity of the step up from championship to premier league

Not a chance in hell that Luke can make that step successfully - thinking otherwise is extremely naive. He would get butchered and it wouldn’t be fair on him

Again, just general overarching attacks, instead of countering specific points of mine. I can defend just about anything I have said on this forum, my opinions are well-considered and thought out. I am sometimes wrong, like everyone, of course.

The problem most people have with me is that I am not a happy clapper and I think outside of the box, which often leads to cynicism and contrarianism. Most of my arguments are ones most people wouldn't think of, I come at things from a unique side, and that can make linear-thinkers uncomfortable, when their worldview is challenged.

I think people like me are essential in society. I question and challenge everything, using logic and critical thinking.

But this is getting off topic, because yet again people resort to personal attacks instead of either addressing my argument or just ignoring me outright. I will not reply again unless it is to defend my football and SAFC opinions.

Well I mean he’s proven to be stronger and better than all of the giant lumps he comes up against in league one and the championship. I’m not for a second saying I think he’s going to be a PL world beater but I certainly don’t think he’s going to be as bad as some people make out. He wins headers against players much bigger than himself because of his strength and attitude / determination. It goes a long way. Don’t know why people are so quick to write him off but then again he’s been the go to boo boy for a long time really.

People see him as a reminder from the dark days (not me btw I think he could and will do a job for us this season). Everything has to be in black and white for them and because he's never played in the prem he's deemed as not good enough before even kicking a ball.

It’s almost as though some people seen us get promoted and thought right he’s got to go. Glad the club kept faith him and rewarded him with a very very well deserved new deal. If he never kicked another ball for us he’d go down as a club legend.
