Still crazy when you think back to that squad - David James, Glen Johnson, Defoe, Carrick, Di Canio, Trevor Sinclair, Don Hutchison, Kanoute, Les Ferdinand, Joe Cole, Lee Bowyer. To be fair to them, they did get 42 points and finished closer in points to 8th place than the team immediately below them.

Think it was 40 with loads of teams on 41, so another point would have done.
Was a cracking season, last at Roker maybe? Wish I remembered more but beating Man Utd, and getting pumped by Wimbledon, seem to stick out especially

I wouldn't have swapped the first 4 seasons for a chance to start them in the PL mind, even the two in the Champs were glorious, we might never have signed SKP if we'd stopped up!
