Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

If there was a deal to be done here it would surely have been done already - no benefit to anyone in leaving it so late.
The transfer window is open for another 24 days.

It's not actually that late for Bologna or Lucumi. It's late for us, because we need a player for next sat but it very clearly benefits the other two to let us get desperate when they have longer deadlines.

I felt like previous transfers things have gone quite before there's been a breakthrough especially when we look back at Xhaka, but then it's obvious it would go silent if we'd walked away from the transfer too. So I'm stumped

Surely we would have moved on already if there wasn't a deal to be done. Saying that, I nor anyone else has any idea if we have moved or not not.

For all we know that's exactly what has happened.

There's been no substantial update on this in ages, it you ignored this thread being kept alive through wishful thinking, all the signs would suggest it's dead in the water.

I think they've set their sights a lot higher which i admire a lot but I don't think you can underestimate how important these opening games are, we can't be going into them with square pegs in round holes. My point is I would have liked us to have got a cb in nice & early given how short we are there (not necessarily Tanganga, he was just a suggestion given his fee). As @Hulkster said we need 2 cbs, can still aim high with the other one.
He's not good, irrespective of the rest pf your post, plus you don't know who they are already in for....

I'd say that looks fine for west ham if we manage to get Lucimi.

I'd prefer 2 with ballard on the bench for the season though. Not convinced by ballard at all
This. Ballard is fine for West Ham but people forget he couldn’t get in the team for the majority of the season. A great play offs has convinced some he’s prem ready. He could be but it’s a gamble and I’m not massively convinced.

He's looked pretty good in preseason so far against some good sides. He definitely needs some experience alongside him but I think he will surprise people

Triantis is a million miles off EPL standard
You've given your opinion before i'm sure. Yet out of the cb's at the club at the minute there's probably only O9 played more over the last year , so fitness wise he will be sound. Hopefully he can surprise a few like Mayenda after his loan spell , in which he hardly played .
