We won’t know if they are gems until we see how they get on in the premier league. All transfers have an element of risk and Diarra, Sadiki, Talbi, Roefs, Reinildo etc all look promising but not one of them have played a minute of premier league football.

In terms of our pursuit of the likes of Lucumi, Diakite, Bade etc I think we’re probably near a self imposed deadline where if talks have still not produced an agreement we move on to other targets.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all to see a deal pretty much all but done for a centre back we’ve not been linked with at all over the next day or two.

My glass is half full, not half empty, I have never seen investment on this scale so there will be no negatives from me about this management team they have a plan and are trying to execute that plan. We don't want just any defender bought, just because we have a void to fill, has to be the right person to fit the model, we have done the "anyone will do" model, it doesn't work!!

I have no idea, but he is 26, left footed, fast and has PL experience.
