Jhon Lucumi - Transfer Rumour

we move on
Too late for that. Everyone worth their salt has moved to other clubs by this point in the window. It's Bologna's road or the A19.
I'll be happy if he comes in, given how much we need another CB, but it does seem mad the money were happy to spend on positions whilst seemingly taking a big gamble up front. They've earned the right to be trusted like
Have they? Their striker record is bad, took them 4 windows to sort of replace Stewart. Kept going with young loans, of which most weren't good enough, Burstow, Gelhardt, Simms, Danns, now Guiu. Their inability to buy a striker cost us an extra season in the championship, now it might get us relegated.

€28m is pretty much nothing in the modern day PL era.

Why are people so caught up on that fee?
Think its just the climatising to seeing us actually spending that big, given we've been used to penny pinching for League One/Championship plodders for the last 7+ years. And obviously the financial scars of our last stint in this league.

Tell us more man
He wins little in the air and is slow moving. Reminds me of Titus Bramble.
Pretty much every half decent analyst who has commented on him wholeheartedly disagrees.

They actually all feel he should be going to a much better side than us!
Where are these sides bidding for him? Sorry, I haven't heard of a single side competing for him, especially at this hefty price. I hope I am absolutely and utterly wrong. He definitely looks like a plodder who tries to avoid responsibility for his errors and lack of pace by continually sticking his hand up to appeal for everything. Premier league strikers will rip him apart.

I believe you. I think we'll get murdered every week if we're going to rely on big jhon.

Reported their Leite wants to go to Fiorentina. We'll need Bologna to get a replacement for Lucumi for them to sanction it like.

I mean its still a decent fee, but its not like plenty of others as you say have arrived for that sort of fee now and matters little if it helps us reach our aims. Not sure there will be many teams though that have spent that kind of money on a CB though outside of the top 6, but i may be wrong.
To think Everton bought Michael Keane for that sort of fee

Hard to know for definite due to undisclosed deals, but our record signing is still 19th most expensive amongst the teams in the league this year, only Burnley with a lower figure. Just goes to show how far detached we have been from transfer fees really for so long and the catching up we have had to do

If you look at our squad I think we can afford to take a chance on our current forwards more than our centre halves.
Don't disagree, and it's not really a criticism. Just think it's a bit strange that we'd spend a fortune on defence, a fortune on midfield, but nowt (other than a loan fee) on a striker. Mind, good strikers are very in demand and cost an absolute fortune, so maybe a risk up front is the chance we have to take in order to spend the budget in areas we can have greater success in
