Looking at that Daily Mail link I couldn't help but noticing this....I'm sure I saw DiFanti scouting in the background

Ki sitting alone in front of the CBs with his partner running around like a rabid wolf 40 yards up the pitch scares me a bit, but we need to score more goals somehow. So sure, why not?

Sooner or later you have to take chances. Klinsmann had the US play Danny Williams behind Bradley and Jones for about a year until he scrapped the 3rd DM to add an attacker. Its changed the entire way we play.

He's done okay at Schalke, but I've never been really impressed with his performances for the US. He is reckless personified, but in a different way than Catts...hard to explain the difference but they'd ultimately both have more reds than assists (or goals for that matter) on the season.

Did Jones even get suspended during qualifying? I think you are exaggerating his recklessness. I makes good hard professional fouls, but its not like he's Nigel De Jong or Ben Thatcher.

It's not necessarily how many suspensions or reds he gets, but I don't think it's just a "hard tackling" issue either. He isn't a great passer and ends up putting himself in bad positions where he has to make a lot of fouls. Like I said, it's a different "reckless" than Catts...[DOUBLEPOST=1388687738][/DOUBLEPOST]

Wasn't suggesting staying with 3 CMs, but rather pointing out that Bradley-Jones works better in my mind than Ki-Jones.

No, but since the beginning of 2012, he's gotten suspended for 8 games once and 4 games another time in the Bundesliga. He's got 7 reds with Schalke, but it's true that he's gotten a bit better about his challenges over the last 2-3 years.

Jones is an enforcer in the midfield. Not purely defensive like traditional enforcers, but nobody wants to enter a 50/50 against him. I would not say he is a "great passer". Lots of turnovers with US. He covers a ton of ground, breaks up play well, and can get forward a bit. Physically a huge upgrade over the current 5 midfielders at Sunderland. Skill wise, about the same.

Also, he owns a home in Los Angelas. If he doesnt go to MLS this window, would seem likely after the World Cup.

I imagine he's "shit" or "useless" or "the worst player in the history of the world" or something like that.
Why did I read that in the style of father dougle from father ted ?

Jermaine Jones could probably sort out the SAFC old guard problem in the locker room with his fists and a couple collapsible chairs.
