Saw him wandering about in the Fire Station after a gig and said hello to him. Told him I used to watch him do the reports on the Sunderland matches on telly "when I was a kid". He looked a bit offended, like I'd just said "here mate you're proper old you". Sorry Jeff.

Not living locally I rarely see Look North or other regional bews and, realistically, haven't for provably thirty years. When I have seen Jeff Brown, probably the best accolade I can pay him is that he would have fitted into the best incarnation of Look North a long time ago.

I wonder if it's a sign of the further dilution of regional programming on TV and radio.
