And I know for a fact that AN wanted Ballard, Clarke, Roberts & Simms. To say every player he wanted was knocked back is a complete lie
He left for money. The model stuff is just bullshit imo.
100% - signing players is not his strong suit despite what his ego tells him.
Indeed. Terrific coach, terrible at transfers, across his whole career. He is actually perfect for a modern, DoF model. Plonker.

Wouldn’t waste my time Arguing with SCT! he’s a grade a wank stain who knows absolutely nothing, and seems to appear when things look like they’re going south! I’ve got him on block as I can even bring myself to read his absolute shite!

It's important to remember that if true, he would have been 3rd choice behind Stewart and Simms which to be fair isn't a bad option.
That’s not necessarily true though, he may have been seen as a better choice than Simms or even as a replacement for Stewart. Given we clearly wanted Broadhead I’m not convinced Neil wanted Stockley but his transfer record overall looks poor.

There's rumours Neil didn't want Simms. I mean, who knows what goes on behind closed doors. If Neil out performs our recruitment team over 4 or 5 years I'll hold my hands up. I'd be surprised though.

He’s shite. It would have been a crap option to be lumbered with.

At least Stewart and Simms are big lads with quality.

All this is here say the bloke did well for us I for one didn't really want him but he proved me wrong and we don't actually know what's really happened so gudluck to him and hopefully his team loses against us...but for some of the things people are saying about the guy are plain cruel when we don't know full picture. Sure some of the know it alls will though..not

He did do well for us as we all know, but he’s said that the Stoke owners could give him something that ours couldn’t.
I wonder what that might be. More than a free bet I would guess.

Same here, put him on ignore ages ago

Already have Stewart and Simms who are both big and strong enough to play the lone striker role. I don't see where the benefit would come in having another big striker in who's also less mobile than the two already mentioned.

I can see why the club decided against that one.

To be fair if we are/were going to stick with the system of playing two, we 100% need a third. Players get tired it’s a very long season, plus one or both will get injured and what do we do then?

We need backup, I’m not saying he’s the one or Neil was right about him, but we do need backup for S&S.

We shouldn't be signing players to be 3rd choice. That's how you go backwards

All signing should be seen as a challenge to the starting 11
