Mate I’d not bother wasting your time,dozy gillett could of had a machine gun and shot 3 of our players on Saturday,excuses on here from the usual suspects would of been but but but he didn’t shoot the other 8 tho ….😂😂😂😂
 

Listening to the Roker report lads, the VAR (James Bell) has never referee’d a PL game.

I wonder whether a junior ref like him feels unable to overturn an established PL ref like Gilet? Given he appears to be a grade A c*nt, it wouldn’t surprise me.

He didn't do anything wrong, he got lucky getting the decision but he didn't foul the lad or handle the ball

Yeah the VAR ref whoever he was deserves miles more criticism imo, as had more time, slowed down, could tell the severity of the push better.

It was a really bad decision in real time but inexcusable after VAR.

Think real time decisions should not result in immediate punishment think the whole season and all performances should be took into account.

You could have a situation where a ref could make a really bad decision in real time like Saturday but been best ref in the country all season.

That should be took into account before any decisions are made that is fair imo

Alas, Gillet, Pawson and Atwell all have previous form for making rank bad, bordering on very dubious decision on a regular basis. A lesser person than I may suspect ulterior motives or bias.

There’s junior refs on VAR? That’s mental. Surely there’s scope to hire retired refs for VAR roles. Stacks of experience and don’t need their physical side. No brainer.
 
The push on Le Fee not being picked up by VAR was inexcusable.

The referee should have been called to the monitor for the foul on Xhaka as a minimum. If the Le Fee one was normal contact then Adams had no excuse because of even less of a push.

The handball, if not deemed a clear and obvious error, I can accept.

The added on time was utterly farcical.

I think that they do like Football in general but just not good enough or skillful enough to make it as a professional footballer but as GoM commented the Peter Principal where you can rise to a level of incompetence that beggars belief. These referees have risen through the ranks when good money became available. What that the thinking was possessed the PGMOL to buy out Gillet's contract with the Australian FA still beggars belief imo.

Just guessing on that last question?

But I think a educated guess is because he must have been performing extremely well up to that point.

Only real sensible answer unless you can think of another reason they did that?
