Not sure why the lad would want a permanent move to Blackburn unless he's been told he has no future at Brighton (and they seem to have high hopes for him).

Blackburn seem to be a steady Championship club but they aren't giving off vibes they are going to be pushing for promotion.

Manager might have a bit of sway - did well in Holland didn’t he ?
Other than that and him being familiar with the team, it should be a no brainer really

I wrote my message before I'd seen the one posted above saying it's likely to be a loan either way.

If it's a choice between Blackburn and ourselves on the same terms, I'm not sure who he'd go for. I'd choose Sunderland but then I'm biased.

He would probably go to Blackburn, he was there last season and probably has some mates. Easier to settle in.
 
Odd that the Blackburn journos were saying he was coming here

It's not confirmed yet & Blackburn are still in for him. I fear we'll be seeing him in the blue and white this season

At least half the Premier League are smaller clubs than SAFC, both now and definitely potentially, but they have been better organised from top to bottom-scouting/player recruitment, managerially on and off the pitch (no Callaghan’s, Byrne’s, Hutchinson’s and Baine’s etc) and have had hands on owners who oversee their clubs operations with a fine, detailed tooth comb, no absent landlords like Short or amateurs playing Football Manager like Stewart ‘the bastards kidnapped me daughter in Oxfordshire in the middle of a pandemic’
Donald or Charlie ‘the Sunderland disease’ Methven.

Currently we seem like a club on the up overall, although we still need to address off the field issues, but our current place in the football food chain has been of our own making.

Keeping the faith though…👍…SAFC OK.
 
So we jumped the gun on this? It's a shame coz he looked very good in the video I watched. Hope we got other irons in the fire. I predicted 3 signings this week. Sorry chaps. Amend that to zero.

Seems like we want to loan him which Brighton want to do, with Blackburn doing a perm deal which they don’t want.

Presumably if they come in on loan, he’ll go back there.

Yep...agree. I can't blame the fella. He was player of the season, must have a good relationship with the team and club. It's ok we just keep trying. No need for panic buying.

Have we really jumped the gun though? It was the Blackburn journalists saying he’s likely coming here.
