Expectations need to be lowered big time. We are in this division for the long haul (if we are lucky). We clearly have next to nothing to spend, as much as i quite like grayson, bain and short have got the the exact man they want who wont rock the boat.

Hasnt he just had a good season or a good couple seasons? We are desperate for strikers and need more than one!

24 goals last year for bury
Had a good season last year albeit in league 1, I'd hope we have another striker in mind aswell as I'd be worried if we relied solely on him for goals. In his entire career, aside from last year, his best goal returns over an entire season have been 14, 10 & 7.

I'm willing to give him a chance but have to say not overly pleased if this is the standard we are looking at.

They've got the perfect manager who spends fuck all. Gerrin there shorty

Grayson has said from day one that he is done with people who won't graft at this club and going forward the players he brings in will fight for the shirt with the right attitude. Vaughan fits the bill in that sense.

It's going to be hard for people to get used to the caliber of player we are in for these days after a decade in the Premier League, but eventually they will have to accept it.

Vaughan has previously scored 41 goals and chipped in with 12 assists in 140 Championship games. He will cost relative pennies and will graft his bollocks off for 90 minutes every week while chipping in with 12+ goals.

I know they play different positions but that work rate and effort alone is worth more to us than someone like a Januzaj who won't break a sweat all season. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard.

We currently have fuck all senior strikers in the squad and the season starts in 3 weeks.

Maybe it's just me but given our current situation I'd rather see a team who may not be full of big, exciting names but who will fight for the shirt every week and actually try their best.

If he was championship level why is he at Bury.

That said Bain did say anyone involved with Sunderland should be aiming for the premiership so maybe perma tan knows something we dont
