Aye in league 1, he's not even a young player who looks like he's on the up. He's 28, had chronic injury problems and seems to be a bit of a twat to go with it. Billy Sharp scored a boat load in that league too but that doesn't mean he'd improve us.

If we are looking down the leagues then Ollie Watkins from Exeter is a much better option than Vaughan.

But it's up to Short how much he makes available. He could reinvest all of the Pickford money if he wished.

In tryth, no one knows what the budget is. As you say, it could be £20m plus.

Sharp would improve us. We don't have any strikers. Vaughan would be a decent acquisition. Unless we brink in a striker from anroad (which is unlikely imo) who is available? Who realistically can we sign? Remembering that the mags paid £10m for Dwight Gayle last season.

Would rather Vaughan who scored 24 league goals last season on a free transfer than shelling out a loan fee/big wages for Daryl Murphy.

Vaughan is only 28, probably on a small wage and would be a decent squad filler non the less.
