James Milner

The equivalent of 155 games less playing time than Gareth Barry, or 4 full seasons.

Loads of token appearances towards the end too (according to Brighton fans themselves).

It's all a bit meh, IMO.

What do you think he had written in his contract! Brighton seem to have offered him another for next year so they think he’d still offer more to the squad.

Love how he just embraced the boring tag when realistically he’s how most top class professionals should be.
That he would get enough appearances to break the record. His performances were a detriment to the team and they probably would have europa football if he hadn’t played.

Even more so when Milner is behind a boat load of players for appearances in the top flight.

Shilton top with 848

Disagree with you on that, it’s no real benefit for Brighton and they’d not have offered him a new contract if he was a liability.

I mean it’s been talked about all season him being brought on just to break the record.

They also brought him on for last 30 seconds of a game and it bit them on the arse as it gave Everton more time to equalise and Brighton fans were furious.

Similar things happened against fulham when they had better options to come off the bench.

Him and Brighton obviously have been chasing the record, to the detriment of the team.

Happy days tho as it meant we got into Europa and they didn’t.

Aye I'm happy we finished above them but really he is probably the player you look to when you want a steady head, this place shows that fans views should only ever be taken with a pinch of salt, no way would they have offered him a new contract (thats what sky are saying happened) if it was just beat a record. The record doesnt add anything to Brighton surely? If you ask 100 people to name clubs Milner has played for it'll be Leeds, City and Liverpool.

Either way I'm happy he came on if he did indeed make mistakes to get us into Europa League, so cheers James and Fabian.

Spent a lot of time there assisting the younger players and getting things organised Good appointment for Brighton as league position has proven
Football needs another pundit . There just ain't enough of them .
He’ll be busy with his Golf Pros and Hospitality businesses mate

I remember playing cricket against him when he was 16 and still an unknown youth player. Not long after he was scoring against us
I had no idea who he was when he scored. It was only when we got back to the pub that we found out he was only 16. Even in his brief cameo that day you could tell he was a player. What a career he’s had.
