Quite amusing seeing the announcement on twitter and all the mags saying "Sunderland fans will be fuming". I'd be amazed if anyone gave the slightest fuck either way tbh. Ex-manager who failed here and seems to have failed in other jobs since gets a job at a lower level (in terms of responsibility) with a PL club. Genuinely want to know why anyone thinks our fans would care. For all he failed with a side that should have got us promoted, and completely bottled the play off final, he seemed a decent bloke so it's good that he's back in employment, doesn't look like management is going to work out for him after a promising start

He was abysmal as his career since has shown. Wasn't he whacked 5, 6 and 7 weekly in his last job?

How does already having some shite players that he won’t have wanted mean that team wasn’t cobbled together? Personnel wise that team was an absolute mess and not much can be left at his door with the absolute chaos he walked into when he joined.

Never once said I particularly rated him but people are too willing to say he lacked bottle when he had probably never been in anything approaching a similar situation before with the magnitude of that game.
