Well this really. I m not thinking about specific players but before looking at our young players, how does he know that we don't already have a good young player as good or better than Magennis. They might look good in Scotland!

While I agree also think Ross might just need to have him as he knows him so well and knows where his potential is going to take him, his stats don't wow me (5 in 61) but it isn't all about goals, he might be the creative spark that instantly gets us playing in the way he wants? Or it might be newspaper bullshit....

Yes, it's easy for the papers to speculate about managers going back for players. I haven't even looked at the lad, it's just the situation I was considering.

I think most managers in an ideal world have a player they would take around with them, e.g Cloughie with McGovern, no idea if Kyle is that player for Jack mind.

Yes, and in the past, if we paid a million for a promising young player recommended to us I wouldn't barman eyelid. Now that is a quarter of the whole leagues transfer spend last year!!!!!
 
Any start is a good start, buying rather than a loaner. Hope he also knows a good goalkeeper at a bargain price.

Bring them home....quicker the better and get them gelled as a team. Ha way the lads.

Irrelevant in this instance mate. Ross knows the lad better than any of us so got to trust his judgement. It’s a whole lot better than an amateurish dof or recruitment officer hand in hand with a few agents carving up deals for over rated mercenaries we don’t need for financial gain.

No idea of his value in the real world or to Ross but £1m seems a bit OTT if this is any sort of guide.....

That said he has twice had his contract extended so they must value him and are trying to protect themselves.
 
It's a sensible thing to do. Let the bloke finish his holidays but say 'is there any player we can be working on getting while you're getting sorted?'
