Jack Clarke

McKenna is mostly to blame for Clarkes poor form imo, fancy buying a player who excelled in a team playing wide & hitting teams on the break. He then brings him in to his team & plays him more centrally in a completely different style of play. From what I’ve seen of them they just don’t stretch the pitch & mostly play very compacted. Clarke never gets the chance to go 1 on 1 with anyone. He’s been completely ineffective, it doesn’t look like they did their homework on him.

Can’t see us selling Clarke. Where would he go other than another newly promoted side to struggle in?

Only Delap will go, for big money. Clarke will be a big player for us next season
You obviously know more about Ipswich than me but if only Delap will leave, who to my understanding is an out and out striker then surely Clarke is still going to be a 2nd or 3rd choice like he is now? Or do you think your current 1st choice will be dropped to the bench?

A lesson in not to use a shite player as your agent. Jack is a great player but his agent who was also a decent championship player got in his head

Why has his agent been shit? You don’t know his contract situation but we all know he’s earning more now than he was.
If he’d of stayed, if we go up would we fair any better than Ipswich have?
He left to play higher football and earn more money not to please the SMB.

His agent got him a move to a club who were one of the favourites for relegation. That's exactly as it's panned out. It's not easy to shine in a very poor team. He also got a move to a club who play a rigid system alien to Clarke's strengths.

You can argue he got him a big signing on fee and wage increase but footballing wise it was a poor move.

It’s hardly obsessing mind passing comment on a recent popular SAFC player who we all broadly thought made a wrong move.
The thread is a right mixed bag to be honest mate, some like you say pass comment on an ex player but some have the knives out for him and just can’t let it go. I took a keen interest in the thread but noticed it getting really toxic, the same people posting the same stuff every Saturday night, if he didn’t get his game or played poorly, desperate for him to fail.

I bet he is...He was happy here, o a decent wage, good mates and he was most of all contented.. Thats much better than chasing fortunes in my book.

Exactly mate, would jump at the chance.
Ipswich could well find themselves with financial problems again if they don't go up at the first time of asking.

Were there anyone else in for him like?

Feels like they’ve just done who’s good in the championship take a punt if we go back down at least we’ll have a good championship side. Like you say doesn’t play their style at all.

It might backfire against them and the players are scared by the experience of losing most weeks they go on a Luton sort of run.

Wouldn’t object to Clarky coming back, as long as he dumps his shister of an agent who I don’t want anywhere near this club again.

I guess that’s possible mate
I mean, look at us
Anyone on here saying we’d be 4th a year ago would have been carted off to the funny farm

Getting there seems reasonably straight forward as the likes of Luton and others have shown.

Staying there is a different story
