I have a close friend who supports and knows a lot of what goes on at Leeds.He told me a few weeks ago if they lose some players for decent money bringing Clarke back was going to be high on their list. Hopefully we won’t but If we sell him to a Championship rival that would really tell us of the owners intent.Every player has his price I suppose but the number would have to begin with a 2 surely.

I think the buying club will be irrelevant, it’s whoever matches the asking price. Leeds are one of a few sides in this league who could pay the sort of money we’d be looking for.

At the end of last season pretty much everyone was convinced Clarke would be away and although we’ve got to within a fortnight of the window closing I still think it’s more than likely.

What worries me is what Speakman would (or wouldn’t) do with the money.

@skunk hater said he’s signed a new deal (got stuff right in the past) and @Di Canios Knees said he’d heard the same.

Today some tactics Twitter acc posted “ “ on a video of Clarke as a young player at Leeds.

Leeds forum suddenly had a load of ITKs with info, claiming hes going there.

Then a couple of other ITKs said it wasn’t. No idea which of them is reliable obviously as they’re on the Leeds forum.

Everyone here is hoping for a positive update from our own decent sources, nowt yet.

One thing we do know is if he goes then it will be for top dollar.

The club have a price for him and unless it is met he is going nowhere.

I’ll be gutted even though I’ve accepted he is moving on as the lad has been nowt but a credit to himself and the club and I’ll wish him all the best apart from when he plays us of course.

My much bigger worry is how we decide to re-invest the money from any deal.

We signed Ballard, Jobe and Rigg to new deals and that doesn’t seem to count for much with some people,

Club have done well with the above. Just my personal opinion I think the club will sell Clarke if someone offers in excess of £20m even if he was to sign a new contract

I'm not sure a championship club would pay what we would want and also pay Clarke the going rate for a £20mill player. I'd be more worried if he was being linked to Premier League sides.

We offered Rutter same terms as Brighton to try and keep him. Wages wouldn't be a problem. There are a few on over 50k a week in our squad.

I obviously l really really want him to stay and that would be the best outcome.

If he goes then it will be for a big fee. My concern is whether we’ll re-invest that money in the playing squad or it’ll be used to help with the sustainability plan.
