We tried so hard to replace Jack but with only a couple of weeks left in what is a complicated market we just couldn’t get a deal for the right player over the line.

I’ve had positive talks with Régis about the squad and he’s fully aligned with our plans going forward.

We’ll be working non stop to ensure the failure to bring in a striker or a replacement for Jack will be rectified in January. I can assure fans we’ve reflected on this window and guarantee lessons will be learned.
 
All being said. A move to Leeds isn’t a massive step up. They’ve sold 3/4 of their best players and no guarantees they go up…wages probably the main thing….

Well £2m will get knocked off for that donkey we got and no doubt we’ll take another donkey or two off them to get the fee down….
