Jack Clarke

Someone went into all the xg + a stuff the other day and Summerville's was quite a bit higher overall. I do think WHU were interested though.

I love Clarke - don't get me wrong and i'm over the moon hes signing - I said the other day I'd rather keep him and chance it anyway going into his last year, but when I see him I don't think he's a cert to do well in the PL, he's good cutting in the box from the left but he has quite 'loose ' control for me.

If he had a year left and was available for 12m or 10m I think the bottom third of the PL might have a look. but generally a lot of them outside WHU and Palace, two clubs with form for dipping down for Champ players, tend to prefer going abroad.

I think at the moment it just suits both parties.
Totally agree with this. I think he'd find the PL a real struggle, especially because he'd likely go to a team not set up to give him multiple chances to run at defenders and would be down the lower end of the league. Stay and have another season like last season, or better, and improve.

I remember against Stoke at home where they left Gooch on his own against Clarke for the full 90.

Gooch had an absolute mare.
I felt sorry for Gooch that day tbh, it was pretty embarrassing for him. Reaffirmed we done the right thing in moving him on.

Still think Gooch is an okay wing back in a back 5 formation focusing on getting forward and getting the crosses in.

In a flat back 4, which is what Stoke played - he’s poor.

Imagine Clarke vs any of last nights back four. That would be an eye opener.

if this is true, it's a massive statement of intent from the club which should be applauded - despite the striker bollocks

*People will still moan though of course about the colour of the taps in the BCB
A statement of intent would be signing a bloody striker.

Agent Gooch that day.”no boss, we don’t need to double up on Clarke like everyone else does, I can manage”.
