How cares if he’s betting? What’s the big deal?

8 months. Farcical

I agree to some extent, especially if he’s not necessarily betting on anything he’s involved with but I understand why the rules are there in the first place.

The rules have always been clear as well so it’s how own fault really.

Another knacker with too much money and too much time on his hands.
I've reached the age of 58 and have placed about 5 bets in my lifetime.
Mugs game.
Having said that Brightons chairman won £880,000 plus during Cheltenham week using the type of data they use at his football club for scouting players amongst other things…😳

Fair play

I don’t get the outage like unless I’m missing something

Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest if Jack Clarke was betting on the footy this season
The argument is that

If he could bet on matches he was involved in then he could spot fix
If he could bet on his own team when injured then could encourage it, or even profit from inside info
If he’d just left a team and had mates there…

It’s easier to blanket ban it. See also Amir, Cronje Gibbs and the like

Have you read the charges? He's bet on himself to score and his club he's employed with to lose etc.

Hes been betting on his own games. Not just on random football matches.

Yeah I guess when you put it like that, but I guess what I mean is I’m seeing a lot of moral outrage towards it. I don’t get that. I’m not being deliberately contradictory here either just being honest

He’s been brilliant for Brentford so if I was their fan I wouldn’t be outraged personally

Said he wasn’t playing in them like

I have no sympathy really. They’re all aware there is a blanket ban, and the reasons for it

As i said, if theres a chance you can influence, then reap it

Actually had a couple of students murdered when i worked at the uni for pissing off triads by stealing from the spot fixing bets

Its always gonna be difficult, disposable income lot of time on hands

But then you have to track all personal relationships, which is virtually impossible

The blanket ban makes perfect sense
