It's Ranieri

A handful? Out of over 40,000?

Aye, that means Sunderland supporters have no class.

I'm having a go at you because you bring up these isolated incidents to slag off the support of the club you yourself supposedly follow.

It's tedious, boring and f***ing irritating.
I didn't say sunderland supporters had no class I said the ones who behaved like that didn't.
One mag punched a horse out of 50k does but we all like to tar them with that brush.
All I did was point out what happened to Gus after he'd done what dick has.

I should imagine Dick will get grief if he plays football and gets results similar to what Gus did in the next season. The football was woeful to watch. One pissed idiot went and had a go at Gus in that Villa game. So fuck.

When was the last time Sunderland supporters caused havoc in our city centre when we lost a derby?

No that wasn't all you did, you insinuated that the same thing will happen again with Advocaat if things don't go well. And as it has been pointed out, it wasn't even a handful at Villa, it was one person. Why you keep bringing this stuff up is beyond me.

Yes I did insinuate it would happen again and it will. We have the Bruce fiasco as well after he'd led us to 10th incase you're trying to make out Gus was a one off as well as Reidy being unable to leave his dugout towards the end after he'd been brulliant for us.
I really hope we stay patient with dick if we hit a rough patch but history tells us we won't

You're like a stuck record, you need to freshen it up, you are quite a bore Joe these days.

History tells us we're far more patient than we should have been. You make it sound as if we go rampaging to the manager's dugout as soon as things turn sour. It's bollocks.

Are you seriously suggesting that sacking any of the mangers mentioned in your above post was a mistake?

I hate this trend of sacking managers. Yes it could be argued that it's preserved our top flight status but also could be argued that it means we continually find ourselves in the same situation season after season.
I wouldn't have sacked Bruce or Poyet.
Oneill looked a tired man towards end I thought so understood that and di canio was an idiot.

Did you enjoy yas holiday Bonny lad? Yav been a miss.

And we've gone and handed a one year deal to our new manager. So if his plan is to stay for one season only, then next summer we are going to be back in exactly the same position regardless of what happens this season. Doesn't make sense if you ask me.

I agree it smacks of a quick fix again. Of course the romantics will talk of how he'll groom one of his back room staff to take over, one poster has even mentioned dick going on the board once he's done his time!
We need stability and stop shitting ourselves the minute we hit a sticky patch.

Dick going on the board ffs  his wife didn't even want him coming here as manager so I'm sure that would go down a right treat!
I can't get over people actually think we are too good for the likes of Ranieri. As you say, when a sticky patch predictably arises, our fans are just going to have to man up and suck it in instead of hounding out the manager at the first opportunity. Stability is the only way this football club will ever move forward.

The consensus in the media today is that the Tai owners have been seduced by Ranieri's CV and it is the wrong appointment for a club whose main aim should be to stay up.

'Ranieri is generally considered to be one of the nicest men in football and his long-running feud with Mourinho is a case in point. In August 2008, they became involved in a war of words. One of them came out with his dignity intact, the other didn’t. It started with Ranieri making a comment about “not being like Mourinho: I don’t have to win to be sure of the things I do”.

Mourinho did not hold back. “I am in Italy to work, not to be involved in a war of words,” he said, before being drawn into a war of words. “I want to do well with Inter, the best I possibly can for us and not forget about the work of the others. Ranieri? He is right in what he is saying: I am very demanding of myself and I need to win things to be secure with what I am doing. And because of this I have won a lot of things in my career. He, instead, has the mentality of someone who doesn’t have the need to win anything. He is nearly 70 years old and has won a Super Cup and another small cup. He’s too old to change his mentality.” Ranieri was 57 at the time.

He is 63 now and has suddenly been given the chance to take on Mourinho again. Few will back him to succeed but one thing is for sure: he will conduct himself in an honourable and humble way, . If Leicester wanted someone nice, they’ve got him. If they wanted someone to keep them in the Premier League, then they may have gone for the wrong guy.'

One of the funniest paragraphs I've read of late...

It's all he has mate ....... he believes repeating the same thing enough times will make it a fact.

It's funny that there are Sunderland posters, on here, fighting harder to justify the appointment than Leicester posters are on their board

Even the biggest Leicester supporter in the world said he didn't rate him, until he was appointed, then backtracked.

Ranieri has never really won anything, anywhere though. At least Advocaat has a few titles and a major European trophy in his cabinet.

He's the Italian Felix Magath, managed big clubs and spend big money then failed to win anything major.

This bumping of threads is getting beyond tedious.

Especially when the first reply after the bump is a poster laughing at someone else when he has a far from 100% record of being correct all the time.

Disagree.
Most times its just funny but this is one I've enjoyed reading. My own comments are as wrong as most ("It'll be a disaster" :p) but I don't mind. Decent fun rereading us all writing him off.
