Interesting we’re above Leeds but Forest 17th seems barmy.
Think Marvin the Paranoid Android came up with that.

Slightly off-topic but does anybody remember the kids comic Scoop from the late 70s/early eighties?

They had this regular feature where they reckoned they had some sort of super computer and would feed the data into it and it would produce a simulation of a match.

Except they didn’t use real teams but would combine teams from different regions so Liverpool and Everton’s best players would be combined into a Merseyside team and our players would be in a North East team along with the mags and Middlesbrough.
Yep.. still got some in the loft!

I remember that, Sunderland only had about 3 players and never did any good

Yeah I remember Scoop. Read it cover to cover when I was about 11 but never bothered reading that section. Even at that age I realised it was hypothetical bollocks :)

Jon Stark the mercenary footballer!
£1000 a game and £250 a goal. From the 70's that was a pretty accurate (though well below the pay scale) prediction of things to come

Ignoring the fact it used the easy cop-out of the 3 promoted sides going straight back down for the 3rd season, Man Utd finished 15th last season, they've signed 2 players, and the AI thinks that's enough to lift them to 5th ???

Quality! My favourite was “This Goalie’s Got Guts”! Think he was called Ben Leiper and he was this fantastic goalkeeper who used to save everything. He was in some kind of accident and ended up in a wheelchair but eventually recovered!

There's absolutely fuck all chance of Man City finishing 7 points clear of Liverpool that's before you even look at Notts Forest, Man United and us.
