Isidor / Haiti

Surprised? 😂

The 2 countries share the island of Hispaniola, it's basic common knowledge.

I looked into travelling to Hiati on a trip when we went to the Dominican about 3 years ago. Soon backed out when I realised what a shit storm the country had become unfortunately.
Where's Hiati like?

During a conversation about where we were going for our holidays one of my mates said they were undecided about either Greece or Athens (seriously) he was taken aback when his geographical faux pas was pointed out.

He was waving a Haitian flag around during promotion celebrations so he feels some sort of strong ties to Haiti. As long as it hasn’t been pleasant there, it’s at its worst rn according to one Haitian I work with. Haiti have always been a classic mid tier CONCACAF team with lower Ligue 1 and Eastern European team players never threatening to make World Cup but frisky to play against in Qualifiers.

Jamaica who have been slightly better and now Curacao, Suriname and like El Salvador who were always around them have passed them by with more diaspora recruiting. With guys like Bellegarde, Edouard and now Isidor, Haiti are finally getting into the game more.

My thought process being its a failed state, they share a relatively small island and there will be shared heritage and families. There's precedent with Ireland and the North being the biggest example.
The is very little cross over. They speak Spanish in the Dominican and French in Haiti. Historically the countries were at war and invaded each other from time to time.

Another country ticked off who will have played for the lads so all for it. Patiently waiting for us to sign a Lesotho international

Yeah, they're finally getting the idea that they can recruit from a lot of French players. Bellegarde aside, they mostly seem to be going for strikers though and Nazon and Pierrot are their best players. Lots based in the MLS as well.

Haiti boss Sebastien Migne has revealed he will meet with former Celtic star Odsonne Edouard and Sunderland ace Wilson Isidor before deciding whether to team them up against Scotland in the World Cup

He'd be absolutely daft if he doesn't call up Isidor assuming he wants to play. Likewise Edouard.
