Is Trai Hume good enough for the Prem?

After the dust settled from our play off final win I have had a few football chats with my sons. One thing we said a while back was out of the side that started or finished the game at Wembley could step up we were uninamous in that we felt Hume was the only one out of a back 4 and keeper who was. That’s only opinion of course.

We need competition for places with players who are either good enough or could step up.

I think in Cirkin, Hume, Huggins and Reinaldo we probably have 4 who are in those brackets. Definitely deserves a chance!

100% yes. He’s not long turned 23, came a long way since signing and is now captain of his country. He’ll do just fine imo.

Personally fear he may struggle with pace of wingers at this level. Keep as cover but upgrade with starter if possible.

Depends on remaining budget. Might be a position we look at in terms of a loan later in the window budget permitting.

The plan is to upgrade every position isn't it ? He's one of our better players from last season, but he is vulnerable against pace. Decent back-up though for our first season.

If we are completely honest about last season...we only really had Jobe who looked like he had huge potential beyond Championship level. Rigg to an extent, but he wasn't consistent - can be expected with his age though.

The rest of them showed glimpses in parts of potential, but also showed limitations at times. Keep saying this but the step up in quality is huge. Clarke was a world beater in the Championship, but did very little in the PL.

I'm not writing Hume off at all, but it's not guaranteed as some people suggest that he will make the grade IMO.

Out of last season's squad he's got a better chance of making it than most imo. Depends how he deals with the pace, his crossing is certainly premier league standard. We need some competition for him though.
