Just looking at Burnley v Chelsea and if been impressed with Burnley. But don't seem to great team.

Heaton - good keeper
Ward - Championship player
Lowton - not good enough for Villa
Mee - Championship player
Keane - as good as Kone?
Brady - can be hit or miss
Westwood - couldn't get into the Villa team
Barton - past his best
Boyd - Championship player
Barnes - Championship player
Gray - average

On paper you'd think we'd be on par with them.

Are you watching the match against Chelsea? We are Division 4 in comparison!!
 
They have some options as well if they need to change things and like for like replacements if they get injuries.
A much more solid, balanced squad than ours. It's full of players who know their role and it's a squad that has taken time to build.

Our squad isn't well balanced at all and completely lacks depth despite owning injury prone players. It looks like it's been thrown together, that's unfortunately because it has.

Give me Burnleys squad any day of the week that ends in a Y.
 
In terms of footballing ability I wouldn't say so, what they do have is a team spirit and self belief. Whether they are just mentally stronger or whether they simply been managed better is hard to say. They concede very early to the best team in the league and I think they still have a belief they can get something.

Michael Keane as good as kone???.....really

This lad is touted as one of the best young centre half's around that's why City and Chelsea are monitoring his progress

Andre gray isn't average either.....there is a reason they are 10 points better off than SAFC it's because they are better

The guy who said there squad isn't better with the words "not a chance"...do you actually think Sunderland have a great squad give your head a shake

The fact that they play for a PREMIER LEAGUE team kind of makes those statements WRONG.
They're above you - if they finish the season above you then yes , their team/squad IS better than yours.

You have no divine right to be higher than anybody - why so bitter?
 
As a neutral I think most of you have a highly inflated opinion of your squad.

Take out Defoe, Pickford and Kone and there isn't one player who definitely gets in another PL team.
