Is Sunderland linked to Man City’s owners ?

Question for those with an interest in financial matters.

I notice that the LDC (Louis Dreyfus company) recently had quite a big investment from Abu Dhabi (ADQ) and that Man City are owned by Abu Dhabi sheikhs by the looks of it.

Could it be that KLD bought Sunderland as part of an agreement with ADQ and that we are somehow linked ?

I’m only asking as it seems Marwood has done us a couple of favours now with Doyle and hopefully Patrick Robert’s.

Interesting to mull over 😀

Well we're expecting an announcement on some new Investment/shareholder details soon, so we'll find out soon enough.
I've had a feeling for a while that we're developing links with Man City. Whether it's Johnson/Johnson's dad or Marwood, I'm sure there are lots of conversations ongoing. It'll be early doors, but may develop into something more.

Pep likes Lee Johnson and the way he tries to get his teams playing football from the back. One of the reasons Doyle was sent here. Marwood has the Sunderland connection as well.

We nearly got David Silva on loan the other year before he left but we thought it might stifle Kimpiokas progress.

Found the report from a July 2020:-
"Initially joining as football administrator, Marwood is now managing director of, Global Football, City Football Group. The City Football Group is a holding company that administers clubs under the ownership of Abu Dhabi United Group, including Manchester City."

The Abu Dhabi wealth fund bought a 45% share in the Dreyfus group in Novemeber 2020.
Apparently the mother had to raise funds after buying out the rest of the family.
Go on Kyril give them 45% of Sunderland and get rid of madrox once and for all!
 
Had read (probably on here, so approach with caution) that Lee Johnson has previously been approached to coach one of the youth sides at City.

Considering Marwood is a MLF, his huge involvement in Man City (Abu Dhabi United Group) & Guardiola's interest in Johnson's coaching ideas, I think we'd be forgiven for putting 2 + 2 together.
