Is it Time We Made The Ashes Like The Ryder Cup?

There'd be he'll on here if it was cut to 3 tests. 5 major cities all with a test. Adelaide and Perth would most likely get cut. Both have relatively new grounds/stands taking them up to 50k capacity and they'd fill them. Just came back from Adelaide and it was pretty much full for 3 days and 3/4 full for day 4. Even day 5 had a decent turnout. Massive money to lose out on just because England can't muster a decent effort.
 

To answer the op. No it is not. Things have been changed too much what with white balls, pink balls, pyjama kits, reviews and franchises.There is a lot to be said for tradition.

Like I said earlier, my suggestion (as OP) was tongue in cheek - but comparing the Ashes down under to England v The Jocks at footy wasn't (tongue in cheek). History points to it being totally uncompetitive despite the fact we all hype it up to be a sporting contest. I'm as guilty as anyone - having been to the 1st test in Perth. It was to be the first time I'd ever attended 5 days of a test match 🙄. "Gutted" doesn't quite do it justice 😱.

Bit the ryder cup is boring as it should be Europe v rest of the world these days.
 
To us expats who have to live with the Australian media and public, the Ashes tours for the past few series have become beyond embarrassing! To the OP, errr why inflict the "English malaise" on Indian cricketers???! To Australians, the England cricket side are looked at as a throwback to the days when the "MCC" were a bunch of Hooray Henrys and chinless wonders who looked on us all here as "colonials" To be fair, the current side are fitting right in with that image: arrogant, and totally without character.
