Just a minor point but the fact they are allowing/committing the contracted players to play a few of these games when it is like pulling hens teeth to allow Durham play stokes in any format annoys me

The men’s tournament will clash with the England-Pakistan Test series next summer, so the availability of England’s Test players will be compromised. Players are still expected to be available for the first three games and the final stages.

So Test players will play an experimental form of the games then straight into the Test series? They're not serious.

The first few games don't clash with the test though do they? At least they're correcting the issue, or attempting to. Ben Stokes live on the BBC next year will be great for cricket.

I just took the quote from the article I haven't checked myself. Yes it would be great for cricket, I don't think anyone doubts that but why can't it be in a Durham or England shirt playing in any of the other formats, the 50 over is already in much of the publics eye and the 20/20 stuff the crowds seem to be increasing for most teams. Both formats popularities are increasing there is no need to make up another

So you're advocating the Test players going straight from 16.4/16.4 into a Test match a couple of days later? Serious?
 
Sport is being destroyed through a combination of artificial overtaking aids in F1, VAR in football and this hundred shite in cricket. I’ll have no sport to enjoy shortly....

No, but it's better for cricket's profile than rest/ test match cricket like they have at present.

I absolutely get your argument but it's a short summer with lots to fit in and something has to give.

I never works. Going straight from short form to proper cricket never ever works. Sacrificing Test match preparation for this is just another piss take IMO.

Crickets profile will be raised, however, once raised, swathes of the country will have no access, for those whose interest has been pricked, as they will have no chance of seeing the game, live and in person

Stokes remember was prevented from bowling in the T20 final of all things by the FTECB but now be available for a format nobody wants.

That’s my problem with this. It’s the first step to finishing county cricket altogether.

I will watch the games however I predict after the first season of it, those new audience members will move onto the next fad

Then they will be relying on the other 93% who support the game as it currently is
