Lack of talent coming through at the moment and have not really produced anyone of real note in the last 5 years. Worrying for them imo with a lot of there better players nearing retirement age. Great they got international ODI and test status but momentum is coming to take a massive hit if a few players don't come through the ranks
 

Better that they play the best sides in limited overs stuff only and play tests v Zim, Bangladesh, WI and Sri Lanka. If they play v the stronger teams A sides you can gauge whether they are worth more tests. But they deserve to be in the elite group for what they have achieved in the last 10 years.
 
What has been alarming during Ireland's summer for me is the attendances from the Irish contingent. They wanted this and they haven't turned up to watch in any great numbers.

75% of today's crowd were 'supporting' India.
 
Still think they'll give us a run for our money in next years Test Match.

Says more about our Test side than it does Irish cricket like.
 
You wouldn't have many of them in a county side unlike a few years ago when the full XI would have done a job.
