That Club World Cup is/was a farce. Better than an Intertoto Certificate but only just.I was just about to post this
Maresca won a European trophy and Club World Cup, not too shabby. I don't see Silva getting a job like Man City.

He won’t go to Newcastle, even if Howe got the bullet. Will have better options.Be gutted if he went to the mags, massive upgrade on what they have now
NUFC need a better à DoF to avoid future feck ups like Wissa,Elanga, Woltemade.Yes. Lucky to be at that level. Only had one job in Premier League, with a top club. Looked totally out of his depth.
He would be my choice, if Howe got the bullet and PIF consulted me (which they obviously would). Good manager, albeit with a ‘blip’ as you say.
Said it a couple of years agoi reckon city
I’m sure at least triple the wages will overcome the climate issueWas the reason he was leaving Bournemouth not because of his family situation? Sure i read his wife just hasn't settled in England and wanted back to Spain/Basque Country.
If she didn't like the balmy South Coast, with London just up the road, the chances she's going to like the rainy NW isn't very high.
Fair point , my opinion of him is tainted as I have just never taken to him , but maybe it's like when a team has a player you can not stand but would like him in your own line up.Marco Silva could be a shout albeit he duffed it at Everton
He mentioned fairly recently that he wouldn’t manage Athletic because he feared damaging the reputation he built as a player (16 years there, nearly 500 games for the B team and then first team). They look like appointing a German manager so there could be a few openings in the Premier potentially, good manager but is he one of these who is better as a big fish in a smaller club?
Time will tell if he gets a bigger club. . I know he puts me off because he looks like he chews his dinner with his mouth open and his touchline histrionics are a pain.
He looks a fit for Chelsea but what a basket case of a set up.
Even though reports say different , if EH left up the road is he an upgrade or a downgrade for them ?
I was not aware of his comments on not managing Athletic etc , but as a player who played 500 plus times for them I get where he is coming from.He mentioned fairly recently that he wouldn’t manage Athletic because he feared damaging the reputation he built as a player (16 years there, nearly 500 games for the B team and then first team).
I also think unlikely he’ll go to RM because of his Basque heritage but you never know. Money talks.
Feels the United job is Carrick’s to lose, so it’s down to Liverpool or City, surely? I think he’s way too clever to risk Chelsea.
Whatever he chooses, he’s a man in demand.
His blip at Everton ( which was regarded as a big club at the time ) was disastrous. Some awful players were brought in. Don’t know how much input he had in choosing them mindFair point , my opinion of him is tainted as I have just never taken to him , but maybe it's like when a team has a player you can not stand but would like him in your own line up.
He is undoubtedly a good manager and maybe worth a shout at a club bigger than Fulham.
Maybe, maybe not.I’m sure at least triple the wages will overcome the climate issue
He’s from Guipozkoa. If you know your Spanish climate geography, you will know it makes Manchester look like the Sahara in comparison. That part of Spain is wet, wet, wet…I’m sure at least triple the wages will overcome the climate issue
Wouldn’t he be better off going to Real Madrid? He won’t go to Newcastle, even if Howe got the bullet. Will have better options.
Is he a massive upgrade?
No idea. Looks very much a manager on the up. Next job will tell I guess.
Man United should just tell him to “pick a number and come along to Carrington when you are ready”.
Chelsea, London and (I imagine) a massive salary could be a huge pull though.
As a proud Basque, it’s complicated.Wouldn’t he be better off going to Real Madrid?
Especially as you pointed out his desire not to spoil his legacy by managing AB , its fair to say managing RM has even greater jeopardy. As a proud Basque, it’s complicated.
Carried on like a right arsehole in the home gameThey look like appointing a German manager so there could be a few openings in the Premier potentially, good manager but is he one of these who is better as a big fish in a smaller club?
