I have watched 90% of these games over the last 6/7 weeks (because of my job) and all I can say is thank God it's over. Simply a Bollywood soap opera which happens to have some cricket in it. Full of mediocre Indian club players and a few Aussie/SA mercenaries and the odd international quality player. I'll get to watch some proper cricket now!

The only game I've seen any of is Warne's final game. Probably would have watched more if ITV4 was on my favourites on sky like. What's your job like, mate?

I am a cricket trader (mainly In-Play) for a leading internet bookmaker.

Too many games. Too much shite to wade through to get decent games.

Interesting to see the popularity of it rise over here, with ITV 4 audience figures doing well, whilst it's popularity over in India on the wane. TV figures 20% down and attendances down, Eden Gardens sold out every year upto now, this year they halfed the ticket cost and still never filled it. Couple of the Indian players including MS Dhoni have spoke out about it as well, saying they are knackered with this straight after a long world cup.

Like most things in the cricket world once the authorities find something that works they milk it and it then suffers from overkill.

In the IPL this year there was 1 league of 10 teams but each time had to play 14 games, meaning they played 5 of the teams twice. It would have been more sensible (and fairer) for each team to only play each other once and then have semi-finals and a final.

That would have shaved a week or two off the tournament, stopped the players being so tired and probably improved the standard of the cricket.

Still enjoyed watching the world's best players in this format though.

Cheers mate. At least you managed to win the battle for the bronze medal.

Now I can turn my attention to the county championship fantasy league. I'm well behind the field in this one but haven't used any transfers so far so perhaps I can start climbing the table.

They'd also dropped the capacity from 90k to 60k at Eden! They reckon fans are struggling to buy into it as the teams have no identity, Kolkotta Knight Riders had a totally different team to last year.

BCCI are a bit miffed that Ghambir had been hiding an injury through the tournament which now means he misses the West Indies tour. There was a guy on the TMS at tea time yesterday saying they want India players to be assessed by their medical teams throughout the tournament and rested when they decide. Can't see the franchise that paid $2m to Ghambir to be overly impressed by that.

Oh, and apparently there were some legal wrangles surrounding the new teams which wasn't sorted out until after the length of the tournament was finalised, hence the uneven number of times you played a certain team. I guess that means next year there'll be even more games.

The tournament has been a bit of a farce just by the way it has dominated some players minds as being the most important part of their cricketing year. But it's been good to watch at times, and certainly made a lot better by ITV's choice of presenter:

far too many games over a long period of time, poor/average overseas players who only got picked as they could play the whole tournament and the whole thing including the commentary has a jobs for the boys feel.

i watched a bit of it. i watched one of the playoff games and the stadium was 3/4 empty.

if tendulkar bats well they love it, otherwise they jsut dont care. not that im saying they should, i think its really dull tbh
