Just dropped my phone, screen is fucked. Looking at a £100 excess to get it repaired on my insurance. Is there anywhere in town etc that will do it cheaper?

Is your phone still going under warranty? If so a third party repair might invalidate it.

Honestly mate, get the repair done with apple, hurts but worth it

Depends what Iphone, and be careful where you take it. Some use cheaper, less responsive glass.

Took my brand new iPhone to a shop in Peterlee town centre, the bloke looked like he never seen a phone in his life but said he would take good care of it and he mustn’t have been kidding, it’s been 3 weeks now and he hasn’t contacted me back to say it’s fixed so he must be making sure it’s like new. I was amazed, we got one done at a small firm but Timpsons was cheaper and gave a 12 rather than 3 month guarantee

Buy a quality replacement screen and do it yourself mate. It's relatively easy and plenty of videos online walking you through it.

Dug out this thread as I have a bad iPhone X screen too - shocked at the prices and thought the market would have diluted a bit. I'm at the end of a contract anyway so might as well just get a new 24 months and better phone by the look of it?
