India v West Indies - 3rd test

It wasnt hindsight I told you what would happen on day two.

Too many on here are now clearly use to watching tests finish inside three days because of inclement weather and green wickets which encourage extravagent seam movement which provides a spectacle of sub standard quality

When faced with a 'flat' 5 day track people start bemoaning this fact, not appreciating that bat dominates on days 1-3 and bowlers come more into their own on days 4 and 5

A particularly poor thought out post from you there Dexter
I'd say the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the WIndies batting line up made this game exciting. If it had been England, South Africa or any of the other sub-continent sides playing there I doubt the game would've panned out as it eventually did.

All it would've taken was one or two decent innings and the game would have fizzled out as a draw. The pitch did deteriorate a little, but not the level of 134 all out.

Does the Jekyll & Hyde refer to India as well.

With all their supremely gifted batsman, the chase wasnt exactly hard or maybe just maybe it was proper test cricket on a 5th day pitch

A score of nearly 300 is never easy to chase on the vast majority of pitches, and the West Indies bowling isn't all that bad. Like I said the pitch obviously did deteriorate but not enough to spark the kind of collapse we saw from the WIndies.

Had they batted well and got a score of 250 the game would have been a dull, dull draw. I'm all for 4 and 5 day test matches but one West Indies batting collapse on a decent enough pitch does not prove these sort of pitches are the way to go.
